Fifth Gait Technologies is seeking a professional with background in physics, scientific/mathematical modeling, aerospace / electrical engineering, or related physical science for application to modeling the effects of nuclear weapons. The successful applicant will contribute to the modeling of nuclear weapon effects on military systems. Areas of emphasis include radiation effects, plasma physics, atmospheric and ionospheric chemistry, and electromagnetic phenomena. Modeling and simulation interests include missile and aircraft system performance, electro-optical sensors, radar, RF signal propagation, EMI and ionizing radiation shielding and protection.
Software experience should include Fortran or C++, Visual Studio, software configuration management, and MS Office applications. Responsibilities will include participation in the process for developing military standards, software development, system simulation and analysis. Good communications skills and an ability to work in a team environment are essential.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and up to 5 years’ experience, including relevant academic training and research. Applicants selected to perform work shall be U.S. citizens and shall comply with applicable program security requirements. The applicant must have a recent DOD Secret security clearance. An active Secret clearance within the last 2 years is strongly preferred.
